The Micro Optical Imaging Systems Laboratory (MOISL) conducts research in computational optics, sensing, and imaging (COSI) for biological microscopy systems. Researchers within the lab work to combine new optical designs and image processing algorithms to provide biological researchers with real-time 3D microscopic imaging capabilities that far exceed exisiting technology. This includes work on point spread function (PSF) engineering to expand the information content of live cell microscope images. The lab also develops systems for quantiative phase imaging through differential interference contrast (DIC) microscopy.

The Micro Optical - Imaging Systems Laboratory is affiliated with the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
